MILITARY BOXES
Pine Island Baptist Church
Holli Edgett - U. S. Air Force – Afghanistan
18 Males and 4 Females

Our Chapel staff is low on phone-cards for morale calls, so any phone cards, no matter the quantity of minutes on them, would be greatly appreciated.
Also, one of our female members has requested a Christian book titled "A Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. She is having a difficult time adjusting to our deployment and can use the support of her fellow Christians.
There has also been a request for playing cards and flashlights. Some of the specific hygiene items requested by several personnel have been mouthwash and sanitary wipes. Also, as it is very dusty here, many of us have developed horrible allergies. Tissues with aloe/lotion in them are a deployed Airman's best friend and we could definitely use quite a bit of those!
I will be taking some pictures of our dorm rooms and shop and post them hopefully some time next week. As always, thank you for taking an interest in helping us!

I just want to send a hearty thank you to your organization for what you are doing for the troops over here!
At this point I have determined that food items to include ramen noodles, Uncle Bens flavored rice packets, chunked chicken packets, tuna packets, snacks, Protein bars, energy drinks, and of course white cotton socks are the biggest needs out here. I am more than happy to be a facilitator to continue to direct care packages to the furthermost outposts and patrol bases. I can assure you as well there is no better morale boost than to receive a care package especially one that was not expected.
Again, thank you to the good hearted people associated with any soldier!

I can't thank you enough for all of your support thus far of the 601st ASMC in Afghanistan. Soldiers appreciate the love and care in every box they have received.   Email addresses are a lot easier, so if we have your email then our responses will generally be faster.
It is beginning to get very cold and has snowed a few times already. We have found that we have an over abundance of most snacks and what not and therefore these are the only consumable items I would encourage you to send:tuna, Peanut Butter, Pasta Noodles, Spices, Tomato Sauce, Marinades...). As for toiletry items we have an over abundance of those as well minus nice lotions (we go through a large amount as your skin dries out rapidly here). Comfort items... we all watch movies, many soldiers read, listen to music, and work out a lot. Due to the cold season, soldiers love being able to wear personal pajamas at night (the guys their favorite sports teams) as well as warm socks and slippers. The females enjoy pedicure and manicure items as that stuff is not available here. Thank you all for your continued expressions of support and love, it means more to us than you know! :-)

These are the units we will be shipping boxes to in February.  This is our mission project for this time.  Please consider some of the items highlighted in gray.  If it is not too much trouble, please put a name on the items or the group of items you bring so that when we pack the boxes, we will get the right items to the right group.  Just staple a name to your bag of goodies for us and we will take it from there.  We will be packing boxes on February 19 in the fellowship hall immediately after the morning service.  Cost to ship each box is $11.95 and donations for shipment can be placed in the Support our Heroes Jar by the collection box.  If you would prefer, you may write a note of appreciation that we can include in the box as well.  There will be sheets in the foyer of the church for the congregation to sign.  If anyone would like to send an e-mail address, please write it down and seal it in an envelope with the recipients name on the envelope and we will place them in the boxes.  Thank you so very much for your support of our men and women who sacrifice their lives on a daily basis for our freedoms.
